Designed by Pompeo Coppini to commemorate the Centennial of Texas' Independence, these coins were minted 2 years early! The Texas Centennial occured in 1936, but Texas commemoratives were struck beginning in 1934 and continuing until 1938. The reverse is considered one of the most beautiful or one of the busiest designs of all US coins, depending on your point of view.
This first year commemorative coin is fully brilliant on both sides with highly lustrous surfaces. It has been graded as MS65 by PCGS.
