Much of Azes' coinage was issued before the birth of Christ, but some had to be struck on the day of Christ's birth, and all were in circulation when Christ lived.

The Magi, Caspar (or Gaspar), Melchior and Balthazar, were thought to be court astrologers from the east. Many scholars believe Caspar to have been a representative sent by "The Great King" Azes II of ancient Bactria to the Holy Land to pay homage to the newborn Jesus.

I bought this product for my son as a starter coin for his collection. Its great product and has an interesting history. The condition of the coin is average, but that is what you are paying for.

Interesting to hold such a relic; too bad mine has hardly any features on it and what's there is unrecognizable. Looks nowhere near as cool as the picture. But I trust it's authentic. Still cool but don't think every one they send out will look like the picture. I understand how they were made- the pictured one is a rare one, stamped in the center/cut properly. Most had offset marks and mines half missing. Just wish Apm. would make sure their best customers don't get the worst of the lot. Not worth the cost of returning.

Fantastic Coin, really unique.

The display for this product is what caught my attention. The coin is backed with a COA and a nice pamphlet describing the history of this coin, which I thought was really intriguing.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
