Silver Drachm of Alexander III (The Great)! This coin was struck by the Kingdom of Macedon during the reign of Alexander III, more familiarly known as Alexander the Great. Macedon grew (in the space of just three decades) from a small kindom in Northern Greece to an empire that streched eastward to present day India.
The approximate specifications of this Silver Drachm are: (18mm X 4.2g). Obverse: Bust of Herakles wearing a lion skin right.
Reverse: Zeus seated left holding a septer and an eagle. Pegasos under eagle. ALEXANDROY to right of Zeus.
This coin is over 2300 years old, and has been graded Almost Uncirculated by NGC. What a great piece of history from the time of Alexander the Great!
