Not Bad

By  Tim

3.0

Walking liberty half dollars are by far my favorite coin, the reverse of the coin had that beautiful BU color, but the obverse seemed rather dull, which took away from the overall BU look. Not bad but could have been nicer.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

aging gracefully

I wanted a sample of the coin whose obverse design is used on the American Eagle silver bullion coin and I'm thrilled by what I received. This WWII-era coin is in beautiful BU condition. The silver has darkened slightly to a gorgeous satin-like patina. And the eagle on the reverse looks absolutely majestic. I can't stop staring at this stunning coin!

  • Attractive Design

Best deal on APMEX

I've bought many of these at APMEX and sent them to PCGS fopr grading. It's been well worth the investment. Two have been just shy of BU, both grading at AU-58, but all the others have ranged between MS-62 and MS-64. All but two have been P-mint 1942, 1943 and 1944.The very first one they sent was a 1935-p (which graded at MS-64, to boot, and was worth a lot more than $32.50), but now APMEX specifies that they will only send 1940s coins. The other was a 1943-D, which graded at MS-63.

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design

I received two beautiful BU Walking Liberty Half Dollars. This coin is a classic design. I used to get them when I collected weekly payments from customers on my paper route over 50 years ago. It's great to have two execptional examples of this historic coin.

Frequent orders, and I'm still happy

By  pristine2

I've ordered seven or eight "BU" WLH's, and thus far only one didn't (just barely) grade as BU. The two I've had professionally graded clocked in at MS-63 and MS 64. Expect only common date Philadelphia mint pieces, but if my experience is any guide you can be pretty sure you are going to get mint state walkers with full luster at about $25 over spot.

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

Great piece of Coin History

By  John

from Wellsville, NY

5.0

I bought this to add a better example to my collection and i must say, the original walking liberty is a beautiful coin. it is so easy to see why the US Mint chose it to be the design of the Silver Eagles bullion. The reverse differs from the modern bullion, but is absolutely a wonderful design. A great piece of American coinage. It really makes today's coins pale in comparison. would be nice to see a larger coin like this in today's coinage.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)

No offense to those who collect The Modern Day Silver Eagles, however, they don't hold a candle to the original design.
