This Silver Denarius depicts Julia Mamaea, mother of Emperor Severus Alexander A.D. 222 - 235. The obverse features Julia's right facing bust right surrounded by "IVLIA MAMAEA AVG." The reverse shows "FECVND AVGVSTAE," Felicitas standing with her hand over a child.

This example has been graded Choice Very Fine by NGC. Julia Mamaea and her son Severus Alexander were murdered in A.D. 235 by mutinous troops, ending the Severan dynasty.
