This is the very popular "Black Eagle" $1.00 Silver Certificate with a large Black Eagle over the portraits of Lincoln & Grant. Tougher signature combo of Elliott and White as these two Treasury officials were in office concurrently for less than 2 months.
- This issue of Silver Certificate was printed sometime between May of 1921 and January of 1922.
- Face: Features a large eagle with its wings spread perched above small portraits of Lincoln and Grant.
- Back: Displays the obligation language at center with the denomination surrounding among stylized scrollwork.
- This note is in Very Fine plus condition.
The Speelman/White signature combo indicates this note was the last of this type printed; before the introduction of the more modern looking series 1923 notes were introduced.
