Mintage of only 4,177 coins! These burnished coins were struck on specially treated blanks to give them a distinct look that is different from regular business strike coins. They were issued at the West Point Mint for just three years.
The obverse of each coin features a beautifully detailed image of the Statue of Liberty along with the words "Liberty" and "E Pluribus Unum." The reverse shows a powerful eagle with wings spread wide. In front of the eagle is a shield adorned with the stars and stripes and a banner that says "Freedom." Around the edge of the reverse, the weight, purity and $100 face value are listed.
