Issued in 1863 by the Broas Pie Baker company in New York City, this Civil War token is from the three-year period in which many private companies issued coins to alleviate a shortage of small denominations. Civil War Token# F-F-630M-6a from New York.

Obverse depicts image similar to Indian Head cent with ledgend UNITED WE STAND around the periphery, and date at bottom. Reverse - ONE COUNTRY surrounded by phrase Broas Pie Bakers / 131 41st ST N.Y. Graded by NGC as MS-64 Brown. Some original luster is still evident. A nice token from the most turbulent time in our history.
