The history of Perth Gold bullion

Seeing the familiar swan on a 1 oz Gold bar signals that you have Gold bullion from the Perth Mint, one of the world’s elite makers of Gold bars and coins. Australian Gold was discovered in Coolgardie in 1892 and Kalgoorlie in 1893, causing miners from around the world to deposit their fresh ore at the new Perth Mint in Western Australia. Gold bullion was first produced at the Perth Mint in 1899, when it was one of three Australian branches of the British Royal Mint. Gold bars are now made in a state-of-the-art facility next door to the original limestone mint building, an impressive example of colonial-era buildings that is on the state’s heritage register.

Why invest in Gold bullion from Australia?

A 1 oz Gold bar from the Perth Mint comes with a guarantee of quality because the Perth Mint is one of a handful of elite world mints trusted by investors everywhere. In 1957, Gold bullion made by the Perth Mint was possibly the purest in the world, and was so pure that the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in London ordered some to use as its own benchmark. Australian Gold in Perth Mint Gold bars, legal tender Gold coins and other Precious Metal bullion are sold to investors around the world. Top-quality Perth Mint Gold bars are available at APMEX in eight weights: 1 gram, 5 grams, 10 grams, 20 grams, 1 oz, 50 grams, 100 grams and 10 oz.

Investors trust Gold bullion bars from Australia because of the Perth Mint’s reputation.

Each 1 oz Gold bar from the Perth Mint is stamped with the Perth Mint’s famous swan logo and features a unique serial number on its assay card, which also guarantees the Gold weight and purity. After producing what was considered the purest Gold bullion in the world in 1957, the Perth Mint has upheld its high standard of Gold purity and manufacturing. By far this is my best purchases. Not only the design is eye catcher, the assay card is so solid and perfectly holding the bar which is very important to me. Not all the products come with two protective plastic but this one did so no scratch on any sides of assay card.

Wonderful gold, impressive assay

This is one of two of my favorite brands for consistent quality. Everything from top to bottom is flawless, meaning the metal itself (which you expect) to the protective assay case, which we tend to take for granted. The reason I mention that assay is because previously I had underestimated the importance of a top quality assay case. In general we want one strong enough to protect the gold (or silver) underneath but not so stiff or inferior (cheap, cloudy plastic) as to be an annoyance, or be prone to distracting surface scratches. In some cases, even, the plastic is too flexible and comes into contact with the metal itself through incidental contact like shipping and handling, causing slight abrasions on the 24K softness inside. Not here. The other goal of the assay, in addition to protection, is to simply let the beauty of the underlying metal shine through. Again, that's what happens here. This assay is top quality in all respects, rigid enough that incidental contact does not cause it to contact the metal, and clear enough so the underlying beauty shows through. As far as I'm concerned, it's perfectly executed in all respects. I highly highly recommended this piece.

The Perth Mint, once again, proved the reputation for excellence it receives from gold and silver investors across the globe. The bar is flawless. No dings or scratches anywhere on it. Some areas of the bar are polished, whereas the rest is covered in a matte finish. The black assay card gives it a very professional and classy appearance, having an appearance similar to the PAMP Suisse assay cards. This gold bar is a great choice for anyone looking for an investment piece or collector's item.

By  LEH

Absolutely pleased with this 1 oz. 99.99% pure Gold bar in Assay - beautiful design front & back and does not have serial # stamped into bar but rather on tamper-resistant card. Smaller in height & width, but makes this up in thickness as to the other bar of 1 oz. Gold from RCM that I own! I highly recommend this gorgeous bar of pure Gold to all to add to their portfolios & collections!

Buying a 1 oz Gold bar is seen as a tried-and-true investment in your future.

Buying a 1 oz Gold bar is investing in both a symbol of wealth as well as tangible wealth that is as old as human history. The world's supply of Gold bullion is finite, creating demand, and the price of Gold is the same wherever Precious Metals are bought and sold, creating an easy investment opportunity. Whether you buy Australian Gold, Canadian Gold or U.S. Gold, Gold is a physical asset with a price that usually moves independent of stocks and property values, making an important addition to your investment portfolio. Perth Mint Gold products come with the peace of mind of government-guaranteed weight and quality.
