It was the first year strike for the Gold Canadian Maple Leaf, plus the atomic number for gold is 79, I thought that was neat.

The order was effertless as usuall, customer service was excellent and the delivery was very prompt. You just can't beat APMEX overall.

Comments about 1979 1 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leaf - Brilliant Uncirculated:

Condition perfectly described as BU...I bought this because it was issued on my birth year and was also the first year of issue.

          Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was a total nightmare, and my money was either to be held in limbo with APMEX for 14+ days or I could travel over an hour to pick it up myself...FEDEX was very rude, to the point I had to defend myself and got escorted out of their office by the police...I was mislead by APMEX and FEDEX on how the package needed to be delivered, held and so on...As much as the ordering experience was pleasurable and fun, taking delivery of the package was the opposite, enough for me to look local next purchase...This is why I ordered only one coin for my first order, not a large quantity, in case of disaster...And disaster was had in the shipping of my package...Once I FINALLY traveled to get it, the product was nicely packaged and protected.

Comments about 1979 1 oz Gold Canadian Maple Leaf - Brilliant Uncirculated:

I am happy to have the first year that a gold bullion coin was issued by Royal Canadien Mint. ("79" is also the Atomic number for gold). The coin I received looked a little nicer than the picture.
