Along the lines of our Statehood Quarter series, Mexico produced this Silver coin as a part of their celebration of the Federation’s 180th anniversary. Each coin pays tribute to one of the 31 states and the Federal District which comprise Mexico. This 10 Peso (1 Onza) coin has the National Arms of Mexico on the obverse, with the State Coat of Arms of Baja California Sur on the reverse. The State of Baja California Sur is located in northwestern Mexico due south of Baja California.
Each of the 1 oz Silver coins in this series has a mintage of only 10,000 coins which means they are not often available! Listed in Krause as KM#724.
