Product Description

Mintage of only 5,000 coins!
This $2 coin depicts the Pacific Swordfish in select gilding. It has a Proof finish and contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver, plus a gilding of pure Gold. Comes to you in an unusual liquid-filled presentation box with a certificate of authenticity!

This coin features a golden Pacific Swordfish leaping from the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf-designed likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth, and the denomination of $2 Fiji.

Swordfish, also known as broadbill in some countries, are large, highly migratory, predatory fish characterized by a long, flat bill. They have elongated, round bodies, and they lose all teeth and scales by adulthood. These fish can live close to shore and reach a maximum length of 14 feet 9 inches and 1,400 pounds. This makes them a popular sport fish in the billfish category, even though they are elusive.

These coins are as elusive as the fish themselves! With such a low mintage, beautiful design, hard to find gilding, and neat presentation case, these coins are sure to please! A great gift for the fisherman or sea lover in your life.
