1908 $20 St. Gaudens Gold w/Motto MS-63 PCGS

Due to public outcry, the motto "In God We Trust" returned to America's largest denomination gold coin.

Considered to be America's most beautiful coin, this $20 Gold coin was designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Minted from 1907-1933 during what is defined as the 'Renaissance of American Coinage', this coin contains .9675 oz of gold. This $20 gold double eagle has been authenticated and graded as Choice Uncirculated MS-63 by PCGS. Low mintage of only 156,258 coins! A very pleasing original lustrous coin. Due to public outcry, the Motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" was put back on the coin against President Theodore Roosevelt's wishes. The motto was placed between the sun and its rays on the Reverse. This is a very interesting piece of history and a very interesting story!
