Product Description

Great collector coin that has been boldly struck with minimal distractions for the grade. Close to the finest known!

A very desireable New Orleans Mint coin in mint state with a mintage of only 140,000! Only 21 coins have been certified at this level (MS-61) through both grading services (PCGS/NGC) and only 16 coins higher with MS-63 being the finest known. The mintage for this issue is much higher than that of Charlotte and Dahlonega issues, but in Mint State the coins are of similar rarity! A great example of the rarity of this issue is that the Harry Bass collection contained only 1 Mint State example.

This coin was designed by Christian Gobrecht and contains .12094 oz of Gold.
