This Silver Proof coin from Liberia is part of a series of colorized Proof Silver coins paying tribute to historic railroads of the world. This coin contains 0.643 oz of fine Silver. The reverse of this coin is dedicated to the Trans-Siberian Railroad of Russia. The front of a Type L Russian steam locomotive is shown (in color) on its run through the Russian winter landscape. First conceived by Czar Alexander III, construction of the railway began in 1891 and proceeded in sections to eventually link Moscow with Vladivostok over 5,700 miles away.
The obverse features the arms of Liberia dividing the date, and separating the legend and denomination. This one is a must-have not just for coin collectors but railroad enthusiasts, as well. With a limited mintage of just 1,891, these are not easy to find so get one while it is possible.
