Product Description

These genuine ancient Roman Silver coins from the third century AD come in a custom-made hardwood case. Each coin is protected in an archival capsule and features a different likeness of one of the twelve gods of ancient Rome: Jupiter, Juno, Neptune, Bacchus, Phoebus, Diana, Mercury, Minerva, Mars, Venus, Vulcan and Ceres. The obverse side of the coin shows the portrait of the Emperor at the time the coins were minted.

These Silver coins were struck for circulation throughout the Empire, using the methods of the day. They were hand struck, made with two dies and a heavy hammer, resulting in not all coins being perfectly round or having an even strike.
This set comes with in a case with a small statuette of Romulus and Remus feeding from the Capitoline Wolf and a certificate of authenticity.
