Here is a high quality series 1928 $1,000 FRN from the St. Louis district.
Series 1928 Federal Reserve Notes were the last to be backed by gold as their obligation states, "Redeemable in Gold on Demand at the United States Treasury, or in Gold or Lawful Money at any Federal Reserve Bank." No Federal Reserve Notes after the 1928 series' has carried this clause in its obligation. Woods/Mellon signatures--Friedberg#2210-H.
This note is an Extra Fine example from one of the tougher districts, as there were only 60,000 notes printed for St. Louis. This example will be housed in a Capital plastics deluxe currency holder, and will make a great addition to any high denomination collection!
