2012 Niue 5 oz Silver $5 Vietnam War Australia Involvement

Product Details

Mintage of only 400 coins!
This coin pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and to the Australians who served in what was Australia's longest war. Almost 60,000 Australians (including ground troops, air force and navy personnel) served in Vietnam. 521 died as a result of the war and more than 30,000 were wounded. The war was the cause of the greatest social and political dissent in Australia since the conscription referendums of the World War I.

This colorized 5 oz Proof Silver coin features an Australian soldier in his army gear holding a gun with a helicopter and another soldier at his back. Comes to you in the original case of issue and full color outer sleeve with numbered certificate of authenticity. The reverse displays a likeness of Queen Elizabeth II.
