The 50 Pesos coin is one of the most popular Mexican Gold coins with collectors and is often referred to as a "centenario." The dual date pays tribute to Mexico's year of independence from Spain: 1821. This coin contains 1.2057 oz of actual Gold weight. The obverse features the iconic Winged Victory design seen on many Mexican issues, and the reverse design is taken from Mexico's coat of arms and shows a golden eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak.
