The Mint of Poland presents the first coin from the "Oddities of Nature" series. The first of the .925 Silver square coins that will feature unique creatures in their different aspects. The fleet-footed pronghorns are the second fastest land mammal in the world, after the cheetah. It can attain speeds of over 53 miles (86 kilometers) per hour. Pronghorns are also great distance runners that can travel for miles at half the speed. On the reverse in the central part of the coin are three images of the pronghorn's run. The background is a mountain landscape. At the bottom, along the rim the inscription: Antilocapra Americana (Latin name of the Pronghorn). On the obverse is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. To the left is the country of issue. Also on the obverse are the face value and a background of images of plants and animal tracks. Each coin comes encapsulated and with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Mint of Poland.
