Saint Ilia the Righteous is depicted on this .999 fine Silver, rectangle shaped coin. Born in 1837, he was a Georgian writer, poet, journalist and lawyer who spearheaded the revival of the Georgian national movement. He is regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern Georgia, and in 1987 he was canonized as Saint Ilia the Righteous by the Georgian Orthodox Church. On the reverse is the profile of Queen Elizabeth II.
