The Gold content of this Spanish colonial issue is .7615 oz. Struck at the Potosi Mint in the Spanish colony of what was to become Bolivia, this 8 escudo depicts King Carol (Charles) IV of Spain. The crowned arms within the chain of the Order of the Fleece appear on the reverse. This is a nice early 19th century Gold coin that is graded Very Fine 35 by NGC. KM#81.
