Product Description

More than 2,400 years old!
The Persian daric was introduced by Darius the Great of Persia between 522 BC and 486 BC, and was used until the invasion of Alexander the Great in 330 BC. Upon invasion, darics were melted down and recoined as coins of Alexander, which makes Persian darics quite rare!

This piece contains more than 1/4 oz of .958 Gold! The obverse shows a kneeling king holding a bow and spear. The reverse has an oblong incuse punch. This example has been graded Choice Very Fine by NGC with a strike rating of 3/5 and a surface rating of 5/5!
