Gold Ducat from the last Doge of Venice!
Issued during the years 1789-1797 when Ludovico Manin reigned as Doge (Duke) of Venice. Manin was the 120th and last Doge, as he was forced to abdicate by Napoleon Bonaparte.
This Gold Zecchino (Ducat) was minted at the Venice mint and contains .1122 oz actual Gold weight. The obverse features Christ standing, and the reverse shows the Doge kneeling. This example is graded AU Details with Surface Hairlines by NGC. Listed in Krause as FR#1445.
