This Gold Solidus dates from the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Phocas (602 - 610 AD). It contains 4.38g actual Gold weignt and was produced at the Constantinople mint.

The obverse shows a facing bust of Phocas. dNN FOCAS PERP AVG

The reverse shows VICTORIA AVGY and an angel standing holding a long staff. CONOB appears below. Officinae I.

This coin is graded Almost Uncirculated by NGC with a strike rating of (5/5) amd a surface rating of (2/5), and notated with a slight bend. Still a wonderful ancient gold coin in a high state of preservation!
