Thracian or Scythian gold stater of Coson, (20mm - 8.47g) Obverse: Three togate figures advancing, the first and third each carrying an ax over their shouldiers.
Reverse: Eagle standing on scepter, holding wreath in one claw.
An unknown dynasty possibly Scythian whose coinage seems to be inspired by the silver denarius of M. Junius Brutus issued in 54 BC

An exceptional ancient gold coin graded Mint State by NGC with Strike and Surface ratings of 3/5 & 5/5 respectively. A quality addition to any advanced ancient collection.
