All of the coins in this set are minted in .9999 fine, pure silver, including the five cent beaver "nickel" and the two dollar bimetallic "toonie", which includes a 24-karat gold-plated core. None of these four coins were ever issued for circulation in silver! Every coin is struck with the Mint's proof finish. This set includes the following coins:

The special edition silver dollar in this set depicts a group of three men aboard a dogsled, the waiting dog team before them listening for the command to move on across the Arctic tundra. The skyline and horizon behind this portrait are filled with a stylized image of a compass. The obverse shows Susanna Blunt's version of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This Proof Silver coin is sure to be popular with collectors. It comes packaged in the original display box of issue. The included numbered certificate of authenticity tells the story of the Arctic Expedition and the effect it had on Canada.
