This one-of-a-kind coin depicts Britannia and Marianne encircled by "1904-2004 Cordiale Entente" on the reverse. Obverse is the bust of Queen Elizabeth II with tiara facing right. Below is the denomination of "FIVE POUNDS". Catalogued in Krause as KM#1055c, this truly impressive coin weighs 3.027 oz with a purity of .9995 Pure Platinum! It was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. This rare coin may never surface again let alone in the highest grade known from NGC!

"Entente Cordiale", usually translated as "cordial understanding" was in fact a series of agreements signed on April 8, 1904 between the United Kingdom and the French Third Republic. It marked the end of almost a millenium of intermittent conflict between the two nations and their predecessor states. It formalized the peaceful co-existence that began at the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815.
