Rarely encountered gold Ducat from Hamburg! Only 1 example graded higher in the NGC census!
From the German Free City of Hamburg, we are proud to offer this gold Ducat struck in 1861. AGW = .1098 of an ounce. Older ducats like this are not seen nearly as often as the common restrikes of Austria and the Netherlands due to their low mintages (only 15,000 were struck this year!). Many of these no longer exist due to their wide use in trade and commerce. In addition, this coin has been graded Mint State 62 by NGC with only one example graded higher. What a find! KM#274.
