Series 1928 $500's are getting tougher to find, especially nice notes from tougher districts!
This example from the Atlanta district, one of only 69,360 printed, Is one such note. This one has not only been certified by PMG as Very Fine 30 with Exceptional Paper Quality, it also has a low 4 digit serial number (F00005046A).
An interesting aspect of the Federal Reserve Notes from 1928 is that their redemption wording states, "Redeemable in Gold on Demand at the United States Treasury, or in Gold or Lawful Money at any Federal Reserve Bank." No Federal Reserve Note since 1928 has carried this redemption. Friedberg#2200-F.
