The reverse design by Canadian artist John Mantha portrays an uncomplicated yet evocative moment between father and child. Sitting with their back to the viewer on a long dock that spans the width of the reverse field, a father and child are joined by their young dog. The father, seated on the left side of the image wearing a t-shirt, shorts and a baseball cap, prepares a fishing rod for his young son. The boy, seated in the centre of the image and wearing a fishing hat, t-shirt and shorts, is about to reach for the rod. Their bare feet dangle above the water below. To the boy’s right sits a young dog, ears perked up as it looks out across the water. The father’s rod lies on the dock to his left while the boy’s line, already in the water below, sends out small ripples. The reverse is engraved with the words “CANADA” and the date “2013,” and the face value of “3 DOLLARS.” The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Comes to you encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case lined with flock and protected by black RCM box and includes a numbered certificate of authenticity.
