1904 Gold $1.00 Lewis & Clark MS-61 NGC

The Lewis & Clark Centennial Exposition was held in Portland, Oregon in 1905. To mark this momentus occasion, a souvenir gold dollar was distributed for $2 each to help fund and erect a bronze memorial of Sacagewea, the female Indian guide who helped Lewis and Clark navigate through the tough uncharted terrain of the newly acquired Louisiana Territory. The obverse features Meriwether Lewis, while its reverse features William Clark. This coin has a low mintage of only 10,025 pieces and is graded MS-61 by NGC.
