Well preserved Gold from the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire!
This gold Solidus was struck during the reign of Emperor Theodosius II (402 - 450 AD). Approx. specs. (20mm X 4.4g).
Obverse: Helmeted head bust right holding spear and shield.
Reverse: Constantinopolis enthroned. CONOB in ex.

This coin has been graded Choice Extra Fine by NGC. Strike and surface ratings are 5/5 & 3/5 respectively.
Theodosius II was the son of Arcadius and Eudoxia. Struck at the Constantinople mint.
