Well preserved Gold from the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire!
This gold Solidus was struck during the reign of Emperor Marcian (450-457 AD). Approx. specs. (20mm X 4g).
Obverse: Helmeted head bust right holding spear and shield.
Reverse: Depiction of winged Victory. CONOB in ex.-- Constantinople Mint.
