The Gold content of this Spanish colonial issue is .7615 oz. Struck in what was to become Colombia, this 8 escudo depicts King Ferdinand VII of Spain on the obverse. The crowned arms within the chain of the Order of the Fleece appear on the reverse. This is a nice early 19th century Gold coin that is graded Very Fine 20 by NGC. KM#66.2.
