Product Description

Mintage of just 1,500 coins!
This Proof Gold 50 Euro coin, which is made of .920 Gold, is part of the “From Clovis to the Republic – 1,500 Years of French History” series. This series debuted in 2011 and pays tribute to key French sovereigns who most affected the French nation’s history. This is the last coin for 2013 of this series. Henri IV (1523-1610) was the first French King in the Bourbon branch of the Capetian dynasty. He issued the Edict of Nantes, putting an end to the French Wars of Religion between the Catholics and the Protestants. The obverse of the coin presents a profile portrait of the king with the neck ruff that was the fashion of that era. The reverse features Henri IV's iconic helmet with its panache of white feathers which inspired his famous message to the troops in the royal squadron. Each of these beautiful Gold coins comes in a box and with a certificate of authenticity.
