One of the most beautiful and famous banknotes that the United States ever printed was the Series 1896 $1.00 Silver Certificate, a.k.a. the Educational Note. The $1 denomination depicts "History instructing Youth." On the right is, the Constitution and in the background is the Washington Monument and the US Capitol. Around the borders are the names of famous Americans in wreaths. The reverse depicts portraits of George and Martha Washington. Good color on a scarce and popular note. Friedberg#224. This note has vertical creasing from being folded into quarters, but still grades Very Fine. Get it while it lasts!
