The 2013 Maori Art Coin celebrates the Koru as an integral part of Maori art and culture, and as a symbol. This 1 oz silver proof coin is the perfect addition to any Maori Art Coin collection, and with a mintage of just 2,000 it won't last long. Mintage of only 2,000 coins!
The surrounding artwork represents the domain of The Mahuta, the God of the Forest. Then is depicted through a series of Koru patterns and is watching over his domain - in which countless piko will grow into established ferns. The intricate design features the Koru and rauponga beautifully engraved with three-dimensional relief, giving the coins incredible depth and dimension. The depiction of The Mahuta contains striking contrasts between the frosted Koru and the polished background - resulting in visually powerful coins that are not to be missed. The coin is housed within a container featuring a specially designed mangopare (hammerhead shark) pattern and it makes for a memorable gift.

Comments about 2013 1 oz Silver Proof Coin New Zealand $1 - Maori Art: Koru:
When I saw this coin online, I thought it looked cool, but when I opened the box and saw it in person, I was speechless. The detail is amazing, in perfect condition, the collector's box was in great condition, and it had its COA and number. The coin I received happened to be #255 out of 2,000. With that low of mintage, in a few years, its worth is bound to increase.
Service and delivery comments:
I was very happy with the delivery speed of APMEX. This was my first purchase with them, so I did not know what to expect. I even received an "APMEX Welcome Book." Shipping seems a bit high, but when your product arrives safe and fast, there is no complaining from me. I would happily pay it again for future orders.
