Mintage of only 10,000!
In October 1761, Chevalier Luc De La Corne and his family were among the 121 people on board. One of the richest men in Canada at the time, his personal cargo consisted of vast amounts of jewelry, silver and gold coins, but all was lost when the ship ran ashore on Cape Breton Island (Nova Scotia). The reverse depicts the original design of these coins. The coin comes encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint maroon flock-lined clamshell case lined with a black flock and protected by a black sleeve. Accompanied by a serialized certificate, your proof of ownership for this coin and evidence that your coin has been individually inspected by Royal Canadian Mint quality assurance specialists.
