This is the fifth 1 oz silver coin in the Royal Canadian Mint’s new "O Canada" series focusing on iconic Canadian images, this beautiful coin celebrates one of Canada's most fascinating marine species, the orca. The reverse design of this .9999 pure silver coin presents an adult female orca and her young calf swimming near a rocky outcropping on the ocean floor. Framing the reverse image is an outer band featuring the word “CANADA,” the date “2013,” and the face value of “25 DOLLARS,” as well as a small stylized orca tail fin. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a maroon clamshell case and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
