Byzantine gold over 1500 years old!
This Gold Solidus was struck during the reign of emperor Leo I (457 - 474 AD). Approximate specifications are: (21mm, 4.5g). Leo was a capable ruler, but his aid to the Western Roman Empire, in an attempt to recover lost territory, brought turmoil to the empire later on.
Obverse: Helmeted head facing. D N LEO PERPET AVG surrounding.
Reverse: Victory standing holding long cross. VICTORIA AGGG. CONOB in ex.

This coin is certified Choice Extra Fine by NGC. An excellent example of 5th century Byzantine gold!
