This Silver Denarius was struck sometime during the reign of Severus Alexander, 26th Emperor of the Roman Empire (A.D. 222-235). Approximate specs of this ancient Silver coin are 19mm and 2.4g. The obverse features a laureate bust facing right and the words "IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG." The reverses can vary determined by stock on hand.
These nice ancient Silver coins are graded Almost Uncirculated by NGC. Severus Alexander was murdered in A.D. 235 by mutinous troops, ending the Severan dynasty.
