The U.S. Trade dollar was created for use in the Orient. Many were validated for fineness with Chinese 'Chop Marks'. This is an unmolested example with only light wear.
In 1873, only 396,635 Trade Dollars were minted, making them a tough find. Designed by William Barber and containing .7874 oz of silver, this Trade Dollar has been authenticated and graded as being in Almost Uncirculated-55 condition by PCGS. In the five-year run that Trade Dollars were minted, less than 36 million pieces were struck.
