The sealing process seals the coin within the authentication card, creating a tamper-evident package that will guarantee your investment indefinitely. If the tamper-evident package has been opened in any way, you will know it. After the process is completed, the coin in tamper-evident package is removed from the machine and checked to ensure that the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. You now have a finished MintDirect® Single 2015 1 oz Gold American Eagle.

By using this process, APMEX can guarantee that the coins you receive are authentic and in the exact condition as they were when they left the United States Mint. The MintDirect® process gives investors confidence in their purchase, knowing that they can buy, hold or sell an authentic coin — guaranteed.

The history of Gold coins

1 oz Gold American Eagle coins are part of the modern American Eagle coin series that was first introduced in 1986 as a result of the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985. These, however, are not the first eagle coins produced in the United States, including the beautiful 1907 Gold Double Eagle coin designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Several Gold coins with eagles were minted in the 1800s and early 1900s before 1933 when President Franklin Roosevelt prohibited American citizens from holding monetary Gold. Citizens were asked to return the Gold coins that were melted down cast into Gold bars. Prior to 1933, Gold coins had been minted since the 1700s at the U.S. Mint.

Why invest in 2015 Gold American Eagles?

MintDirect 1 oz Gold American Eagle coins have added assurances that you will receive Gold coins in pristine condition just as they left the U.S. Mint. The limited number of 2015 Gold American Eagles that are MintDirect are sealed when they arrive so it is easy to preserve the Gold bullion in the highest quality condition. A limited number of Gold coins are MintDirect, and APMEX has an exclusive selection of these Gold bullion coins. Add these American Gold coins to your investment portfolio and know you have invested in high quality, beautiful Gold bullion.

Gold in 1 oz Gold American Eagles has been valued for thousands of years.

Part of the reason 1 oz Gold American Eagles hold their value has to do with centuries of the Precious Metal being valued by civilizations across the globe. The perception of 2015 Gold American Eagles’ and other Gold coins’ value, though, is based on Gold being very useful to societies throughout time. In addition to Gold coins, people have fashioned jewelry and sacred objects out of Gold. The price of the American Gold Eagle today also benefits from Gold being used extensively in industry. The price of Gold is bolstered by uses in everything from the manufacture of medical devices to making electronics such as GPS units.

Well the Golden Eagles

By  Doggorunning

These are wonderful quoins and very beautiful but if you put it side-by-side with the Buffalo coins which are solid gold you can definitely tell the difference. These are not as gold looking as the solid gold coins but they're highly recognized and would most likely be easier to sell or use an emergency

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

Cons

  • Unattractive Design

Beautifully designed and struck gold eagle "coin". I was debating on the gold buffalo or eagle. For my hard earned money, I know I made the right decision. My coin was secured in the mint direct plastic case. Note: there are three indentations around the rim of the plastic case. My initial thought was the plastic case w/gold coin may have been damaged but it wasn't. The three indentations are purposely placed to keep the coin from spinning inside the case. Thanks APMEX for another easy and hassle free transaction.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

If your going to get any gold coin, then this is the one. Don't really need the mint direct unless you plan on getting an Airtite. I would say this is the Cadillac coin to get. NO collection complete without this standard.

Pros

  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

This is my first purchase of this item. Since my #1 desire was high liquidity in the future, the American Gold Eagle was the natural choice since it is among the most recognizable coins. I feel it's worth paying a slight premium for the packaging here, not only because it keeps the coin in mint condition, but also because when it comes time to sell it back it should be easier. However, the buyer can still visually inspect the coins in the packaging. Regarding APMEX delivery of this item: I am more than satisfied. I had some issues with receiving the package and I contacted APMEX with my concern and they had the issue resolved the next business day. They clearly have a lot of experience in this area. Their website has been very customer-friendly and their staff professional (I had to skip over several online dealers for not having these attributes before I discovered APMEX). It is when you are having a problem that you appreciate these things.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand
