This coin was struck to raise money to build a memorial building to honor the memory of President William McKinley who had been assassinated in office. This specimen is free of distracting marks and has rose gold accents on the reverse.
Struck in both 1916 and 1917, the 1917 issue is rarer, with 5000 less coins struck than in 1916.
