2015 1 oz Silver BU Native American Mint $1 Sioux Indian

2015 1 oz Silver BU Native American Mint $1 Sioux Indian

The Native American Mint's first 1 oz Silver bullion coin features the Sioux Indian. This coin is authorized by the Oglala Sioux Tribe, which is the largest of the Sioux nations and is located at Pine Ridge.

These coins reflect the sovereign status of Native American tribes and are instrumental in honoring tribal history and culture spanning centuries. Adding to their collectibility is the fact that they are the only American, non-U.S. government coins available in the marketplace.

Coin Highlights:

  • Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver.
  • Multiples of 20 come in plastic tubes. Multiples of 500 come packaged in boxes. Individual coins come in protective plastic flips.
  • Obverse: Depiction of a typical war chief from the 1860s when fighting was rife between the Sioux and the U.S. military. Around the rim is "Sioux", "Sovereign Nation", the weight and purity and 2015.
  • Reverse: The Sioux Buffalo, which was an intricate part of Sioux life as the tribe often followed the buffalo to ensure sustenance.
  • These are non-circulating, legally authorized coins by a federally recognized sovereign nation, but are not legal tender.
  • Royalties from the sale of these coins assist Native American charities, counter severe poverty and raise tribal awareness.

Beautifully display your Sioux Indian coin by adding an attractive presentation box to your order.

The designs on these Silver coins represent the history and culture of Native American tribes, and the royalties aid in their continued existence as federally recognized tribes. Add this unique piece of Native American culture to your cart today!

Indigenous Native American tribes have tribal sovereignty in the United States, giving them the authority to govern themselves within the borders of the United States. These tribes are considered "domestic dependent nations," which is a form of parallel sovereignty within the U.S. constitutional framework.

This coin is an official commercial item that represents the tribe, but there is no legal face value, as tribes are not allowed to create their own currencies. This ability is reserved for the federal government.

Support The Tribes With Honest Money!

I've wanted to show solidarity with Native American Tribes for quite some time now, and these Lakota Sioux silver rounds are a perfect way to do it. They're not legal tender on the reservations currently, but maybe some day they will be. Either way they're a smaller premium over spot and are a unique twist on Indian round designs. No downsides to this purchase.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Mint Condition

Good Bullion Choice!

When they went on sale I ordered just 1 to have a better look and was pleasantly surprised. I actually like this piece a lot - so much so that I ordered another 25. It's unique and for the price the fact that it is matte or low relief is a non-issue. Cheaper than buffalos while on sale. Good deal.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design

Brand recognizable enough. Gave a 4 star only because could have made them more high relief sculpture. But very nice
