Cyrus McCormick - Reaper Medal Nice bronze medal sponsored by the International Harvester Company in 1931 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the invention of the reaper by Cyrus McCormick in 1831. This was very likley the first mechanized agricultural machine. The obverse shows a portrait facing left of McCormick, with the following legend around: CYRUS HALL McCORMICK. 1809-1884 INVENTOR OF THE REAPER. The reverse shows two men using a horse-drawn reaper. Around this depiction is: INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COMPANY - CENTENNIAL OF THE REAPER 1831 - 1931. Very Fine to Extrmely Fine condition with a few tiny rim nicks.
