Lots of Dirty Dimes

By  SilverCoins6

from Oak Creek, WI

2.0

I bought $5 CAD worth of coins with an order; I enjoy collecting a variety of government isused silver coins and these were listed at a fair price. This is the first time I have tried buying a coin lot online where I did not know exactly which coins I was receiving. I received 4 quarters and 40 dimes. I was disappointed that the variety was so limited... I suppose at least it wasn't 50 dimes. All coins were dated in the 1940's - 1960's, with an exception of a 1919 dime (.925 silver, at least one exciting find). 2 of the quarters and 14 of the dimes were so badly tarnished or with black spots covering such large areas that they really have no appeal for me (some I can barely tell whether they are George VI or Elizabeth II). I will try to sell these and hope I can recover some of my money. I suppose that I received the items as listed (no guarantee on what the coins will look like & no guarantee on variety), so I will take this as a learning lesson.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Recognized Brand

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Poor Condition

Something Different

By  Silver Stampede

from New Hampshire

4.0

Only ordered $1 face value worth to have something different in my collection. I received 4 quarters(1960,1954,1955,1966), two are in decent condition and the other two are darker/toned. My curiosity has been cured and will go back to buying 90% silver now because its a better deal.

Pros

  • Easy to Sell

Cons

  • Higher Premium

I decided to order some 80 percent Canadian Silver in circulated condition. I have always purchased the BU Canadian Dollars from APMEX. I loved this order. I received 2 half dollars and 4 quarters. There was a great variety of years. Thanks APMEX.

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Recognized Brand

Nice Buy

I liked the variety. The oldest I got was a dime from 1903 and a half dollar from 1913. some almost uncirculated dimes from mid-late sixties (all 80% silver) and I got quite a few WW 2 era coins, as well. I got quarters, dimes and half dollars in my 8 dollar order. It was pretty fun opening all the little zip lock bags to see what I got.

Pros

  • Recognized Brand
  • Attractive Design
  • Value (low premium over spot)

Cons

  • Hard to Sell

Awesome condition... nice value for the buck. I live close to Canada so selling Canadian is less a worry for me... some feel it is harder to sell down south but silver is silver is silver!

  • Value (low premium over spot)
