Beautiful but very expensive

This coin comes in an attractive book-like case. In this case, one cannot see the obverse--the colorized reverse is visible. Upon prying the capsule out of the book, the reverse with the denomination and year become visible. Yes, you can replace the capsule in its place. With mintage of only 10,000, these are going to be quite rare. They do come in a book, which is quite large and make stacking large quantities of them rather cumbersome. However, these are more hobby coins than survival coins due to that they are very expensive. You can get 3 to 4 Eagles for the price of just one of these. If you are just starting, I recommend "junk(??)" silver coins or Eagles, Maple Leafs, or the Australian Kookaburras first. However, if you already have a nice stack or are simply starting a hobby, these are a fine addition. They are comparable in price to other New Zealand coins, They also make nice gifts, since they are attractively packaged. And if you are serious at collecting different coins in this series, there are several others either in stock or forthcoming.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand
