APMEX Joins Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to Provide 4.8 Million Meals in Fight Against Hunger

For years, Service has been a core value at APMEX. What started with the personal childhood struggles of our President and Founder Scott Thomas turned into a desire to help people that has transcended the entire company. The decision was made to adopt the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as our primary charity and we hold numerous food and fundraising events throughout the year.
One of the Regional Food Bank’s largest yearly initiatives is their Holiday Match Campaign, which last year raised $4.2 million – or more than 21 million meals – in just two months. For the third year in a row, APMEX is excited to team up with the Regional Food Bank as one of the sponsors for the 2018 Holiday Match Campaign from Nov. 15, 2018 to Jan. 15, 2019.
Normally, every $1 donated to the Regional Food Bank provides four meals. Thanks to APMEX.com, the Cresap Family Foundation and Chesapeake Energy Corporation, every donation received during the Match Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar up to $600,000, for a total donation of $1.2 million this holiday season. This means every dollar donated over these two months will provide literally twice as many meals to families living with hunger in central and western Oklahoma.
“The Regional Food Bank is so fortunate to have such generous Holiday Match donors who will help others’ donations go twice as far,” Regional Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Katie Fitzgerald said. “Hunger is real for too many of our neighbors. Please consider joining us in making holidays a little brighter for the one in six Oklahomans who lives with hunger.”
Oklahoma consistently ranks among the hungriest states and is currently the sixth-hungriest state in the nation. The majority of Oklahomans served by the Regional Food Bank include chronically hungry children, seniors living on limited incomes and hardworking families who struggle to make ends meet. One in four children and one in six adults have inconsistent access to healthy food.
The 2018 Holiday Match Campaign will allow the Regional Food Bank to make an even greater impact than normal during the tough holiday season. To donate and help the Regional Food Bank achieve its match goal of $600,000, click here. Donations may also be mailed to:
